There are two main types of coffee grinders. The first type is a knife or blade grinder. The second type is a bur grinder. Both grinders get the job done; however, the bur grinder does a better job by exposing more of the surface of the ground coffee, thus improving the flavor. Of course, the bur grinder is more expensive.
